01
What’s something most people would find unexpected about you?
I grapple with self-doubt and I'm not an overly confident person.
02
What restaurant are you always excited to get back to?
Au Cheval in Chicago. I think about their burger often. Get the double.
03
What has been the highlight of your career (so far)?
I feel fortunate to have had many highlights in my career so far, from working with designers/art directors I adore, to making covers for notable publications. But if I had to call out a specific project, it would have to be designing the boxset for the Criterion Collections' release of Citizen Kane. It was one of the more challenging projects with many rounds of iterations and brief changes, but well worth it in the end.
04
First piece of music you ever purchased?
Nirvana — in Utero on cassette. Thank you to the music store employee who ignored the Parental Advisory label. I owe you one!
05
What’s the best piece of business advice you’ve ever been given?
I'm not big on outside advice, but I recently read an interview with Joe Talbot of the band IDLES and he summed it pretty well. "Keep your head down, do what you love, and do it brilliantly, or, quit. Fuck off. "
