The short story is that I was always a compulsive redecorator. As soon as I got sick of a chair, a piece of art, a rug, whatever, I’d either donate it or store it in my basement. Eventually I had enough stuff in storage that my roommate and I decided to have a “sale”. Every aspect of preparing for the sale, from staging the house, taking the photos, writing witty copy for each description, and of course shopping for new pieces, was just the most enjoyable work I’d done. I couldn’t stop.
